Micro-needling is a device used for medical purposes, which breaks down old scar tissue in order to stimulate skin cells for growth. This reproduction then results in the creation of new tissue layers with collagen and elastin fibres, helping to improve blood supply. The device will gently glide over the skin, penetrating the layers that are closest to the surface, up to a depth of 2mm, to create several tiny needle abrasions. The treatment encourages the body to react through the formation of new elastin and collagen fibres. When the skin responds to the treatment, it thickens and plumps, which in turn minimises the appearance of wrinkles, scarring and fine lines.
Following treatment, a soothing skin product like Hyaluronic Acid or Vitamin-C serum is again used to heal, hydrate and protect the skin.
